We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.~John Lennon

A FEW SIMPLE THINGS YOU CAN DO EVERY DAY TO CREATE A HAPPY LIFE:
Every day I will write 1 thing to do to change your LIFE!
Day 7. Be kind to yourself.
I know on Thursday our topic was to Love yourself, but when I say be kind to yourself, I mean be kind to your mind. Be gentle and patient with yourself and your mind. Impatience is a resistance to learning. We want the answers without learning the lesson or doing the steps that are necessary. Any situation in your life will persist until you have learned the lesson that God wants to teach you or wants you to understand.
I love the way Louise Hay describes it when she says: “Think of your mind as if it were a garden. If you take loving care and attention to this garden, it gradually keeps improving and will blossom. The same with your mind - you select the thoughts that you will nurture, & with patience they grow and contribute to creating the garden of experiences you want."
We know that our conscience is the earth that the Lord uses to plant His seed, the word of God. In order for us to take loving care of this garden, our mind, our heart of understanding and the seeds that are planted in it, we have to water it regularly. In John 7 and in Proverbs 18 it becomes quite evident to us that water is the gospel of God. That is why I should and take up my cross daily, and follow Him.
There is also another way we must learn to be kind to our minds; once we have asked God to forgive us, we have to learn to let go and forgive ourselves! Being kind to ourselves means we have stop all blame, all guilt, all punishment, and all pain. It is absolutely necessary to acknowledge the Spirit of God in us as He assures us in 1 Corinthians 3. That is why we should think thoughts that build us up rather than beat us up. If you become tense, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes, and release whatever tension you are carrying. Say to yourself silently: "It is well with my Soul." You will then notice how much calmer you feel."
If all is well with your soul, I can assure you, you will go to bed with a calm and HAPPY heart and wake up HAPPY the next morning!
My references (King James Version) :-
1 Corinthians 10:28 &29 - But if any man say unto you, this is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
Matthew 13 - Parable of the Sower
Luke 8:11 - Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
John 7:38 - He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Proverbs 18:4 - The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
1 Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Day 6. Be friendly everywhere you go.
Seeing that it is Good Friday, I feel it is only right to think of the crucifixion of the Son of God and what it means for me in my life today. What affect does it have on my everyday living?
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Love is not to give that of which you have plenty, God gave His only begotten Son. Love is to give the little that you do have… Give of yourself, your life, your time, your friendliness and love. The more love you give – the more love you shall have! If Christ lives in me and I have His spirit in my heart, it will be easy for me to be loving and kind towards everyone around me.
Giving to others makes one Happy!
There is always someone who needs a willing ear to listen. Do you know how much a friendly smile will mean to the newspaper seller at the robot? Have you noticed most of the ladies at the checkout points in the supermarkets wears a nametag greet her by her name and smile – she will feel noticed and appreciated! You will feel good. I bet she will give you quick and friendly service.
If you do however come across someone that is grumpy and in a bad mood, do not let that dampen your spirit and your good mood! Stay positive and friendly. Proverbs tells us that soft answers turns away wrath or anger, but should you find yourself in a position where you are friendly and the other person stays nasty, remember that you are in control of your feelings. No one can make you feel anything or anyway unless you allow them to. You always have a choice. If you choose to get angry, you give away your power and are no longer in control. This is the time to bear the Spiritual fruits of Christ that lives in you – the fruit of temperance where you stay calm and in control.
Keep a warm smile in your heart, knowing that you are filled with love and joy that no man can take away from you. You choose to be Happy! Because Christ lives in you, you choose to spread the love and joy everywhere you go!
My references (King James Version) :-
Proverbs 15:1 King James Version (KJV) A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/temperance : the practice of always controlling your actions, thoughts, or feelings so that you do not eat or drink too much, become too angry, etc.

Day 5. Love Yourself.
When people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. Their health improves and they feel better. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin.
I have to emphasize the importance of positive thoughts and positive self-talk in order for us to stay happy and love ourselves.
When you are in front of the mirror each morning, busy putting on your make-up, brushing your teeth or shaving your beard before work, just stop for a second, look at yourself and say: "I love you. What can I do for you today? How can I make you happy?"
Then, if something unpleasant happens to you during the day, think of that conversation with yourself in front of the mirror and remember: "I love you anyway."
Remember that God said: in 1 Corinthians 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
How often have you heard people talk to themselves, saying: “Oh I am so stupid, why can’t I ever do anything right? I will never succeed!” Surely you heard someone saying that or perhaps you’ve even said it a few times yourself?
When you want to really START LOVING YOURSELF it is probably the most important key to STOP CRITICIZING yourself.
If we tell ourselves that we are fine, then we can make changes in our lives easily, no matter what is going on. It is when we make ourselves bad that we have great difficulty.
There are many who have grown up in tension and anxiety. The message they got as children was: "There must be something wrong with me." Think for a moment about the words you use when scolding yourself. Some of the phrases people use are: stupid, useless, dumb, worthless, etc. There is a tremendous need to build self-worth and value in ourselves, because when we don’t feel good enough, it has a terrible impact on our whole way of living and interacting with others. You have to learn to praise yourself. Criticism breaks down the inner spirit, and praise builds it up. When you berate yourself, you belittle the Heavenly Father that created you. Begin with little things.
I do not mean you must go around telling everyone how good and wonderful you are; no in Proverbs the Lord tells us it is good to have a tender heart and be humble.
Take care of your body, mind and spirit. Have respect for yourself. Pamper and spoil yourself often. Once you learn to love yourself, you can begin to love and accept other people.

Day 4. Let Go & have a Better feeling thought .
One of the biggest blocks to your happiness and success is hanging on to past negative events, negative situations and bad memories. You keep thinking about them and every time you think about them you create more bad and negative feelings.
You need to let go of those past negative events and situations and
bad memories, the kind that get you all upset, angry or depressed.
Every time you think about it your stomach turns, you get upset, angry and you keep having and attracting more negative thoughts.
Maybe you think about what someone did to you. You think that somebody took something away from you and you ask yourself: “How dare they do that?” Then you begin to feel like the victim, you start to doubt yourself, then you blame yourself and things go from bad to worse. You keep beating yourself up for what happened or what went wrong.
Then your mind gets filled with even more negative thoughts. You keep hanging on, thinking about it over and over again. You’re upset, you can’t concentrate on what you’re doing, you make mistakes, and you keep thinking about it. In the evening you can’t sleep because you start thinking about it again.
You want to do something but don't know what to do. You just keep thinking about what happened. The negative thoughts keep coming. You just can't let go
But you CAN let go, And you CAN move on, You CAN stop beating yourself up!
You CAN get rid of those negative thoughts !
So what do you do?
Give your mind something better to work with!

Give your mind something better to work with!
Every time you are not feeling good – ask yourself: “What am I thinking?” It is usually a negative thought! Think of a specific event that made you feel exuberantly happy; or of a place where you were, when your whole being was filled with pure joy and bliss…
Now keep that thought or feeling ready for whenever you are not feeling good! Use it to replace any bad or unwanted feelings or thoughts!
Once you feel better you start focusing on what you have today that you are grateful for and that are good in your life, all the things that makes you happy. Let go of those bad memories and negative events that you keep thinking about by giving your mind something else to work with and giving it a new direction. Give it positive messages and your mind will pick up on these new thoughts.
Your mind picks up on the thoughts that are repeated and creates your life based on those thoughts.
The next time you catch yourself thinking about a bad memory or something that happened in the past, let go and release it. Replace it with your BETTER FEELING THOUGHT!
You need to make a decision and choose to turn things around and let go.
If you choose to let go of all the bad old memories that do not serve you, you can move forward, enjoy life, meet terrific people, find new positive opportunities and create a more pleasant and rewarding life, one filled with happy memories.
Ha a Wonderful Wednesday full of Happy Thoughts :)

Day 3. Use Affirmations morning, noon and night.
Unfortunately, in this day and age of chaotic, fast lane living and all the negative comments and news in the social media, it is almost impossible for people to be happy and think positive.
Positive thinking gives us the power to be in control of the things around us that we can be in control of and let it turn out well and good – according to which favours us the most. Positive thinking causes our minds to change our reality that we observe. When we start thinking positive we will grow a good and positive sense of wellness, optimism, purpose and meaning. We will also choose positive emotions and start eliminating negative self-limiting beliefs.
Affirmation is defined as a statement that is positive and applicable in your present life. It should be set as something PRESENT and REAL. Affirmations will help you change your mindset and increase your motivation to take action toward your goals.
Tips for Creating Affirmations
1. Affirmations start with the words “I AM. . .”
2. Affirmations are positive. Never use the word NOT in an affirmation.
WRONG: I am not afraid of job interviews.
RIGHT: I am happily and calmly answering every question in my job interviews.
3. Affirmations are stated in the present tense.
• Say it as if it is happening now.
4. Affirmations are short. Keep them brief.
5. Affirmations are specific.
WRONG: I am driving a new car.
RIGHT: I am driving a new blue 2014 Ford KUGA Titanium 1.6 Eco Boost.
6. Affirmations need words that end in -ing. (an action verb).
• I am driving a new blue 2014 Ford KUGA Titanium 1.6 Eco Boost.
• I am jogging 3 km on the beach every morning.
7. Affirmations have a feeling word in them. (happily, proudly, thrilled, excited, exhilarated, peacefully, calmly, gratefully or an action verb that express feelings such as enjoying, adoring or feeling great.)
• I am happily driving my new blue 2008 Lexus LS460.
• I am peacefully jogging 3 km on the beach every morning.
8. Affirmations are about yourself.
• All of your affirmations should be to change your own behaviour, not the behaviour of someone else.
WRONG: Tyrion is not jumping onto the bed anymore. (Our puppy who is now 7 months old)
RIGHT: I am calmly and effectively teaching Tyrion to stay off the bed.
How to Use Affirmations and Visualizations
Close your eyes and visualize yourself experiencing what the affirmation describes.
See the scene as if it were happening to you and around you.
Hear any sounds you might hear when you successfully achieve what your affirmation describes.
Include other important people in your life congratulating you with your success.
Feeling the feelings that you will feel when you achieve this success.
Repeat your affirmations during “wasted time” such as waiting in line, exercising or driving.
USE AFFIRMATIONS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!

Day 2. Grant yourself a few minutes every morning for Visualization.
Many people confuse visualisation with ordinary imagination. We wouldn't be able to visualise without our imagination. Any human creation and manifestation is impossible without our thinking, our thoughts.
It is super cool to lie in bed early in the morning and visualize. I also like to sit outside with a cup of coffee, very early – just as the sun starts to rise… (although not in Winter time!) and visualize.
First visualize and intend your day, then visualize your bigger goals!
Think of the one (or more) thing that you really want most of all at this stage of your life. Concentrate on this image, keep it uppermost in your mind and physically experience it. Live in the moment. Believe that it is real. See it, feel it and experience it as if you already have it! You should feel your heart beating with excitement. Get a kick out of the whole experience!
Visualization can always make you exuberantly happy because you go through and experience the creative process first-hand!
Some people find they visualize more easily, some that they can feel the experience more easily, and some see ‘words’- as in visualizing a contract. Start with the process that comes readily to you, and the rest will follow naturally over time. You may not automatically feel happy (you might feel a sense of accomplishment, peace, relief, for example). Don’t give up because you can't feel happy right away.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) I do everything wholeheartedly or not at all; and luckily I am an artist – so I have taken my visualization one step further. I made a VISION BOARD that I have put up in my bedroom. Now I can lie in bed, have an image of every goal I have and with it I have put a positive affirmation that I can read when I look at the picture.
I have made a second board that is at my desk which has primarily my professional goals on it. One of my goals is to start a foundation for abused woman and children - to assist them with unresolved emotional problems, through the use of EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and other therapies. I believe that through my book that I have just written: 'My Secret Revealed', (which will be a BEST SELLER) I will be in the fortunate position to be Oprah's guest.
I have also made a Power Point show on my laptop, as a moving vision board, that I use as my screen saver. One of the pictures that I used in the Power Point show is where I am with Oprah. When I made these pictures I was using Dr. Joe Vitale's technique of visualization called 'Nevillizing' - act as if it has already happened!

You can use magazines or brochures, cut out any images that resemble your goals and place them all over in your home: in your bedroom, kitchen or bathroom; even in your office or somewhere next to your computer. I do however recommend that you either replace the pictures regularly with similar ones or change their positions; as we are all prone to get use to our surroundings and we tend not to notice things after a while.
Always try to plan your 'tomorrow'. It will be REALLY GOOD if you visualize your next day as a POSITIVE AND SUCCESSFUL day and then visualize all your other goals again just before you fall asleep every night. Enjoy the experience, fall asleep with HAPPY THOUGHTS AND GOOD FEELINGS!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Monday :)

Day 1. Greet each day with a smile AND greet it’s GREATER!
Wake up with a joyful heart - happy to be alive the minute you open your eyes.
I know not everyone is a morning person, like I am, but if you set your mind to it, it will just come naturally.
The minute I become aware of my surroundings when I wake up, the very first thing that comes to my mind is to thank God for this brand new day.
A new day is another opportunity to do something great; another chance to become the best you have ever been and make others around you happy; another day to maybe fix things you ‘screwed up’ yesterday.
It is 2 o’clock Sunday morning (13 April 2014) - I should be in bed, sleeping! I was... until a few minutes ago. Then I started writing to you. I have already done this first part of the post –ready to post it on the web, but I have just now decided to change it. It felt to me like it was impersonal, not genuinely from my heart. I had to write it as if you were sitting next to me on my couch, in my lounge, having a chat over a cup of coffee – it had to be real.
NO, I DO NOT wake up with a SMILE EVERY MORNING, let alone 2 o’clock in the morning, when my little Pekingese, Meisiekind wants to go out to have a wee-wee. Meisiekind is the Afrikaans word for little girl – sometimes I just call her Meis.
Sometimes when I wake up I wonder: ‘what day of the week is it? What is the time? It is stil dark outside, I’m still so tired, and I don’t want to get up now!’
I am bedazzled and not at all thinking strait! I do not always think of God the very first thing when I open my eyes! When I wake up on my own accord and everything is calm and peaceful, yes then I do! BUT NOT when Meis wakes me up in the middle of the night!
No! The first thing I then do is to light the candle. We do have electricity, but I LOVE candles and prefer not to use a bedside lamp. Then I light a sigarette and stumble outside to open the door for Meis Yes, yes! You don’t have to remind me - I know it is very unhealthy!
I have a lot of mistakes, and I am over weight! I am busy working on that!
Oh no, why did she wake me, I am still SO tired... no come on Leoné, be grateful she woke you and she didn't wee on carpet! Be glad, you took her out and now you can go back to sleep. Oh well I’m awake now, sitting in front of the laptop, having a smoke, I might just as well make myself a cup of coffee.

Okay I’m back – just quickly made that coffee. Oh, I LUV COFFEE! You know, I should probably go back to bed, but I feel like this “conversation” is not over yet – what I actually wanted to say is: Just be grateful. Gratitude is one of the best ways to FEEL GOOD! The more you are grateful for, the more you find to be grateful for!
I hope that sounds all right, I am actually Afrikaans and my English is not all that good, but I am trying my best.
...AND if you have an attitude of Gratitude...you will have a happy heart! You will start noticing all the things to be thankful for and less things to moan about!
My coffee is finished and I have said enough for this day, I am going back to bed now.
Have yourself a Wonderful Super Duper day!
